About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Town Planner to join our team at Telent Technology Services Limited. As a Town Planner, you will play a crucial part in shaping the future direction of our planning services and helping to deliver mission-critical projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and support to the Planning Team and wider business on all planning services, full planning applications, and other planning work as required.
  • Support Acquisition and Town Planning staff to ensure that everyone who undertakes Town Planning work has the necessary training and experience.
  • Help to deliver on the financial planning targets and the Planning business plan.
  • Manage the workload of the Town Planning team and ensure resources are appropriately aligned with workload.
  • Oversee planning appeal assessments and submissions.
  • Liaise with clients to obtain regular feedback on planning advice and services provided.
  • Help to ensure client milestones/KPIs are measured and met or exceeded.
  • Identify and target new planning clients and projects from within Telent and externally.
  • Report regularly and work closely with the Head of Acquisition, Estates & Planning to help monitor the performance of the Planning business unit and develop the planning service offering.
Requirements
  • RITP or RICS qualified (or near completion)
  • Experience of working as a Town Planner in Wireless Telecoms/Telecommunications industry or Mobile Network Operators (MNO) industry (preferred)
  • Thorough understanding of local authority and national planning policies, codes, and acts around Planning applications
  • Good IT skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Full UK driving license holder and flexible to travel if required
  • Considerable amount of experience of submitting Planning applications and related applications/documentation
  • Excellent understanding of the appeals process, including experience of submitting written representation appeals
  • Strong understanding of GPDO throughout the UK, as well as National Policy for Communications
  • Attention to detail and good report writing skills
  • Knowledge of Civils in a Telecoms environment
