Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer

Assystem is a leading international company accelerating the energy transition worldwide. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team and contribute to the delivery of Defence design and safety engineering projects.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work with multi-discipline infrastructure system designs to provide an overall sustainment capability for our client's Major Infrastructure Projects directorate. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and reviewing design packages by subconsultants
  • Working with users and other stakeholders to ensure integrated facilities meet technical and operational requirements
  • Ensuring systems are designed against clear statements of compliance with defined requirements
  • Supporting the management of structural engineering elements of new buildings
  • Ensuring design documentation covers scope of operations required by Project Manager
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering
  • Chartered Engineer status and membership of a relevant institution or demonstrable engineering experience and capability of registering with the Engineering Council at CEng level
  • Knowledge of architectural design of industrial buildings and building services design and installation
  • Experience of relevant seismic codes for satisfying Nuclear Safety Functions
  • Knowledge of construction techniques employed for Nuclear Safety related structures and buildings
