The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly those with special needs and challenging behaviours. You will be responsible for assisting the lead teacher in implementing educational programs and activities, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, and supporting students with daily tasks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the lead teacher in implementing educational programs and activities for students.
  • Providing support to students with special needs, including those with autism.
  • Assisting in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Helping students with daily tasks, such as personal care and hygiene.
  • Supporting students in their academic and social development.
  • Collaborating with the lead teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to the lead teacher.
  • Assisting with classroom management and behaviour management strategies.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Knowledge of special education practices and strategies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with children.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviours.
