Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Asset Support and Outage Excellence Team UK. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our power plant and gas storage projects, outages, and maintenance activities across Uniper's UK and Swedish assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that work targets and objectives are satisfactorily completed and that all work is completed across the main KPI's (safety, time, cost, quality, technical performance, and compliance).
  • Support project implementation by managing stakeholders to provide onsite support of QA and QC processes and demonstrating how they are adding value by helping to ensure that business targets are met, and a continuous improvement process is maintained.
  • Ensure best practice is employed by networking and benchmark comparisons with other functions and businesses to achieve optimum business performance.
  • Collaborate with Uniper's functions such as Asset Operations, Procurement, Operational Excellence, and IT to create collaborative standards and processes and improve quality performance.
  • Manage and contribute to the improvement of Quality Assurance, including regular audits of the work control management process.
  • Ensure projects meet the quality standards required to minimize total quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction while ensuring procedures and processes are adhered to.
  • Deliver and manage quality initiatives working closely with Uniper's functional organization, OEMs, and supply chains to ensure compliance, security of supply, and the highest standard of HSSEQ performance.
Requirements:
  • An HNC or engineering degree qualification and/or engineering craft-based qualification and/or appropriate Project Management or Quality Assurance qualification, with relevant process plant knowledge and experience.
  • Experience in ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems Requirements and Root Cause Analysis Techniques.
  • An understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation and standards and a positive safety and quality mindset, including a safety management qualification (IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSH Certificate).
  • Experience in the implementation of Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes and their practical application through performing inspections of work within a process environment.
  • A demonstrable track record of applying continuous improvement techniques to improve performance of management systems and processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across functions and with site teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to create effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
  • The confidence to challenge established practices and suggest imaginative solutions.
  • A full UK applicable driver's license.
