ISG is a progressive construction and engineering firm specializing in large-scale, intricate projects throughout the UK. We are currently seeking a Senior Technical Services Manager to contribute to our expanding High-Tech Manufacturing division, specifically in the execution of a pharmaceutical production facility.

Role Purpose

To ensure the delivery of high-quality services and products to our clients, aligning with project objectives by collaborating with the Professional team, Trades, Vendors, and adhering to ISG's systems, procedures, and culture. This role is a Senior Management Position, where the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting reports, leading meetings with Delivery Partners, Clients, and their Customers, while overseeing Engineering delivery on-site, including Quality and Health and Safety. Although commissioning is outsourced, the TSM is expected to engage actively in the Commissioning and Project Closeout phases.

Key Accountabilities

To oversee the Mechanical package of works for a major pharmaceutical project from design through procurement, installation, and commissioning, reporting directly to the Engineering Director. Facilitate BIM workshops and design reviews. Identify challenges and propose effective solutions. Manage MEP Design relevant to the package of works. Review technical submissions, designs, and shop drawings for compliance with Employer's requirements. Contribute to the coordinated project schedule and provide insights on installation and commissioning sequencing. Actively participate in the design process, offering technical support and industry expertise to the Design Team. Monitor design releases against the schedule, highlighting any risks and suggesting mitigation strategies. Manage trade contractors relevant to the package of works. Collaborate with trade contractors to establish quality sign-off schedules. Review, monitor, and inspect workmanship quality on-site, ensuring compliance with Employer's requirements. Track trade contractor progress on-site, conduct regular progress meetings, and identify any program risks with proposed mitigation strategies. Review, comment on, and approve Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMs). Ensure Health and Safety compliance on-site. Establish commissioning sign-offs and understand the commissioning strategy. Assist the Commissioning Team in achieving project completion. Contribute to project reporting, detailing progress and deliverables associated with the package of works. Provide high-level strategic insights at the project level. Supply information to the proposal team as needed. Attend and present at client presentations and workshops. Cultivate relationships with the supply chain and vendors. Promote ISG's philosophy and culture. Generate clear and concise project reports. Monitor the project schedule and contribute to mitigation measures. Take a lead role in presenting the project to the client. Offer buildability advice and value engineering solutions. Maintain awareness of cost elements and overall costs. Advocate for and implement the Zero Defects quality initiative, ensuring the project meets high-quality standards. Apply Best Practices to ensure safe and timely delivery.

Skills & Experience

Comprehensive knowledge of pre-construction and construction processes. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices. Understanding of the pre-construction process and ability to manage the design phase of a project. Strong political awareness. Ability to compile information from the team to prepare and present project reports. Experience at a senior level in medium (£50m+) and preferably at least one large (£100m+) project. Knowledge of Health & Safety policies and management systems. Prefabrication knowledge is desirable but not essential. Experience in Major Projects. Background in the pharmaceutical sector. Experience with GMP.

Qualifications

Recognized qualification in Building Services disciplines. CSCS card holder.
