Job Title: Mechanical Technician

DMW Recruitment is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our client's team at their Teesside site. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of terminal equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage terminal maintenance to ensure compliance with UK policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to projects, operations, and maintenance teams.
  • Repair and maintain rotating equipment, including mechanical seals, packed gland replacements, and oil changes.
  • Monitor and report on consumable stock levels and recommend actions on incident reports.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of procedures and execute safety critical equipment routines.
  • Perform routine inspections of tanks, including pressure vacuum valves and emergency vents.
  • Ensure contractors working on site comply with site rules and regulations.
  • Perform fire pump testing, crane and winch maintenance, and sling, rigging, and lifting tasks.
  • Carry out mechanical hazardous area inspections and valve preventative maintenance/overhaul.
Requirements:
  • NVQ Engineering maintenance (Level 3) or time served mechanical technician experience.
  • 5+ years experience on chemical manufacturing or storage plant.
  • ECITB MJI10 hand torque bolted connection techniques and ECITB MJI19 hydraulic torque bolted connection techniques.
  • Ability to read process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and manual handling skills.
  • Asbestos awareness and ability to work in a team environment.
Salary:

Up to 45k per annum DOE.
