In this role, you will oversee and facilitate the Routing & Day Zero coordination of drivers and management at various hubs within our operational network. You will be accountable for managing all delivered volumes while ensuring freight costs are optimized.

The Logistics Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while maximizing the resources of the National Distribution Centre (NDC) to ensure an efficient and compliant operation of trucks and drivers. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that orders are fulfilled effectively, enabling the operation to meet its volume targets while adhering to cost and profit objectives, and continuously striving for improvements in both processes and departmental performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and enhance the skills of the Day Zero coordinator and Routing Team.
  • Oversee all routing activities for the NDC, including both in-house fleet and third-party logistics.
  • Act as the primary point of escalation for all Day Zero challenges and routing inquiries for upcoming operations.
  • Ensure effective management of all routing routines to maximize the utilization of the tanker fleet.
  • Investigate all Day Zero and routing discrepancies, report findings, and implement continuous improvement strategies.
  • Achieve all assigned transport KPIs by collaborating with operational personnel (e.g., Regional Operations Managers, Operations Managers, HSE team).
  • Ensure optimal use of IT systems in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor, maintain, and enhance all routing systems and planning tools.
  • Update all NDC out-of-hours documentation to guarantee accuracy.
  • Provide coverage for Routing and Day Zero operations as needed (including occasional weekend work).
  • Develop and manage office schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with depot operations staff and third-party hauliers to meet resource demands and prepare for potential resource constraints.
  • Assist with the third-party invoicing process when necessary.
  • Exhibit adaptability and manage workload in response to evolving business needs.
