We are seeking a highly skilled Disrepair Surveyor to join our team at Grand Union Housing Group. As a Disrepair Surveyor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality living conditions of our residents by identifying and addressing damp, condensation, and mould problems.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee Disrepair Works: Lead all aspects of disrepair works from start to finish, ensuring adherence to contracts, KPIs, and value for money in efficiency, economy, and effectiveness.
- Identify Defects and Provide Solutions: Identify defects, prepare detailed reports, schedules of repairs, and associated specifications and estimates to ensure accurate and timely resolution of disrepair issues.
- Expert Guidance and Support: Offer expert guidance on building defects, diagnosis, and remedial recommendations to colleagues and stakeholders.
- Conduct Surveys and Produce Reports: Conduct thorough surveys, produce accurate reports, and recommend appropriate remedial work, especially for damp and disrepair issues.
- Adhere to Regulations and Standards: Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, Grand Union's standing orders, and financial regulations to ensure compliance and quality assurance.
- Support the Growth of Colleagues: Assist in the technical growth of colleagues within Property Services, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
- Qualifications: A Degree in Building Surveying (or similar field) and a full UK driving license.
- Skills and Experience: Excellent customer service, project management skills, risk identification and management, accountability, positive and outcome-focused attitude, advising, supporting, and mentoring colleagues, excellent communication skills, report writing skills, experience with disrepair service in social housing, knowledge of repair techniques and disrepair legislation, and understanding of pre/post inspection processes and building pathology.
