Metalis Engineering Recruitment Limited is collaborating with a reputable engineering firm in Worcester, which is expanding its operations and is in search of a Maintenance Technician.
The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver a comprehensive repair and maintenance service, including preventive maintenance tasks, across a diverse range of machinery present on-site, ensuring a high level of proficiency.
This encompasses:
- Maintenance of casting machinery, hydraulic systems, pneumatic devices, and various electro-mechanical equipment.
- Execution of electrical installations, repairs, and refurbishments within manufacturing facilities, including offices and factory environments, focusing on instrumentation, motors, pumps, and electrical circuit wiring.
- Conducting tests on portable electrical equipment.
- Utilizing PLC systems for control, program manipulation, fault diagnosis, and follow-up procedures.
- Commissioning equipment and interpreting technical drawings.
- Reporting any hazards related to faulty machinery and electrical systems through a formal documentation process.
- Assisting in the training and development of new employees and apprentices.
- Operating forklift trucks with capacities ranging from 3 to 10 tonnes (training available).
- Performing basic daily maintenance on forklift trucks.
Essential skills and qualifications include:
- Electrical qualifications.
- Proficiency in using tools such as ammeters, voltmeters, multi-testers, electrical drills, soldering equipment, and general engineering tools.
- Familiarity with portable electrical tools, PCs, and relevant software.
- Comprehensive understanding of Health & Safety regulations pertaining to machinery operation.
- Strong organizational skills to manage personal workload effectively.
