Electrical Production Manager Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Production Manager to lead our clients' Electrical Installation and Test Engineers at their Cambridge facility. As a dynamic leader, you will oversee production processes, ensure quality, safety, and efficiency, and drive operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strong leadership to the Electrical Installation and Test Engineers, ensuring effective coordination of workloads and maintaining quality standards.
  • Supervise Electrical team supervisors, manage performance issues, and offer training and support as needed. Promote a safe working environment and drive on-time delivery to the master plan.
  • Ensure compliance with all departmental policies and procedures. Create a culture of continuous improvement, focusing on cost reduction and operational efficiency.
  • Align manning levels and skills with production requirements and future capacity needs. Oversee budgeting, CAPEX control, and forecasting.
  • Assist the MLS bid team with production perspectives to support efficient bid processes.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, recognize high performance, address under-performance, and plan for succession within the team.
Requirements:
  • City and Guilds Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • City & Guilds qualification for BS 7671 Electrical Wiring Regulations.
  • City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Electrical Installation Inspection & Testing.
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification is preferable.
  • Leadership qualification (CMI, LM) is an advantage.
  • Over 10 years of experience in electrical manufacturing and assembly.
  • Proven track record in leading diverse teams through strategic change.

This role requires full-time on-site presence in Cambridge. Occasional travel may be necessary. Flexibility may be needed to meet project demands.
