About the Role:

The Children's Society is seeking an experienced Assistant Shop Manager to join our dynamic team in our Burnham On Sea shop. As a key member of our Retail Division, you will assist the Shop Manager in all aspects of the retail business, including driving sales, managing stock and donations, and developing a team of volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Shop Manager in driving sales and growing the business within the local community
  • Manage stock and donations, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources
  • Develop and lead a team of volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service
  • Work closely with the Shop Manager to create a harmonious and successful working relationship
  • Contribute to the development of the shop's business plan and strategy

Requirements:

  • Previous Assistant Shop Manager experience, ideally 1 year or more within the retail or hospitality sector
  • Experience within the Charity retail sector is preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work for long periods on your feet and lift and sort stock
  • Good level of fitness and physical stamina
  • Confidence in IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and Epos till software
  • Previous Voluntary or Charity retail experience is an advantage
