About Us:

The Play Service is committed to delivering engaging and supportive activities for children and young people. We are currently looking for dedicated support workers to assist in our programs for a temporary period of 5 weeks.

Job Overview:

We seek enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about fostering positive experiences for children through diverse play and wellbeing initiatives. As part of our workforce, you will be responsible for organizing and leading activities such as Play and Wellbeing Camps and Food and Fun Camps during school breaks.

The ideal candidate will collaborate effectively to ensure that all children, including those with disabilities and additional needs, have the chance to engage in play within a secure and supportive setting.

While prior experience in Playwork or with children and young people is beneficial, it is not a strict requirement.

To uphold our commitment to safety, this role will necessitate an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

We are dedicated to promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.

Required Qualifications / Experience:

Essential

  • Excellent communication abilities
  • A patient and empathetic demeanor

Desirable

  • Relevant level 2 qualification in Playwork, Youth work, Early Years Care, Education, or equivalent
  • Awareness of the significance of play for children and the community
  • Previous experience in related fields such as Playwork, Youth work, or Education
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or complex behaviors
  • Capability to plan and execute engaging play activities for children with varied abilities
