Job Title: Application Security Test Engineer

BSI is seeking a highly skilled Application Security Test Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our testing team, you will be responsible for testing software applications to ensure they meet stringent security standards and certification requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform product testing of software applications (Web & Mobile)
  • Assist in maintaining and improving testing techniques for the IoT and Digital Apps laboratory
  • Research and identify new potential test equipment/software tools for the IoT laboratory and Digital Apps laboratory
  • Provide technical assistance with BSI customers during testing and certification journeys
  • Manage and own assigned test projects to ensure timely completion
  • Prepare test reports for clients and deliver on time
  • Lead project, assessment, and evaluation teams as required
  • Represent BSI's interests with external bodies, such as industry associations and standards committees
  • Identify new and/or amended product standards/directives and ensure BSI's testing schemes are up-to-date
  • Work with Compliance and Risk teams to ensure products meet regulatory requirements
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of web application security principles, standards, and best practices
  • Experience in performing security testing of web/mobile applications and web services
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages
  • Familiarity with web application development frameworks and web technologies
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports
  • Understanding of business requirements and applying security without affecting functionality
  • Previous experience in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) sector is preferred
  • Relevant degree in computer science, engineering, information security, or a related field
