Environmental and Sustainability Manager

Principal People Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Environmental and Sustainability Manager to join a leading facilities management organization on a high-profile government contract.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, offering a salary of £60-65k + car + package. The successful candidate will be required to travel predominantly across the Midlands and North UK, with occasional overnight stays.

The Environmental and Sustainability Manager will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting operational and strategic site inspections to ensure compliance with environmental and sustainability standards.
  • Preparing for accreditation audits and managing responsibilities across a multisite portfolio.
  • Developing and implementing environmental and sustainability action plans to reduce waste and promote biodiversity.
  • Liaising with site and regional management to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Overseeing waste management and pollution control, and promoting best practices across the organization.

The ideal candidate will hold:

Requirements
  • IEMA membership or an environmental-based degree.
  • Experience working in FM, construction, maintenance, or hard services, or transferable sectors.
  • Ability to work in both operational and strategic roles, with a willingness to travel and occasional overnight stays.
  • Engaging and communicative individual able to liaise at all levels, with a willingness to undertake and pass security and DBS checks.
