**Job Title:** English Lecturer

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced English Lecturer to join our team at MidKent College. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students, as well as contributing to the development of our English department.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Teaching and Learning: Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences to students, including the development and implementation of curriculum materials and schemes of work.
  • Course Management: Manage day-to-day course activities, including communication with students, problem-solving, and diagnostic compliance.
  • Student Support: Provide support to students, including regular one-to-one meetings, setting and reviewing SMART targets, and assisting with UCAS references.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess student work, provide feedback, and monitor student progress, including attendance and results.
  • Departmental Administration: Assist with departmental administration, including the timely marking of registers, updating of Pro-Monitor, and producing reports on student attendance, retention, and achievement.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd)
  • Experience of teaching English language and literature at a further education level
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
