Job Title: Electrical or Mechanical Technician

We are seeking an experienced Electrical or Mechanical Technician to join our team in the Guildford and Southwest Surrey area.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated and sociable team of professionals committed to delivering the production of millions of litres of water for customers across Southwest Surrey each day.

The successful candidate will be a key member of a team of M&E Technicians and work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure water production sites are operating efficiently and safely.

The role involves completing day-to-day electrical tasks, responding to reactive work, fault finding, and identifying solutions. The successful candidate will also support internal and external stakeholders with large-scale planned work at our sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Completion of day-to-day electrical tasks, including rewiring lighting systems and refurbishment of pumps and valves.
  • Responding to reactive work to maintain operational output and supply of clean water to customers.
  • Fault finding and identification of suitable solutions.
  • Identification and escalation of requirements for new or replacement parts.
  • Supporting internal and external stakeholders with large-scale planned work at our sites.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in an electrical apprenticeship, with an 18th Edition qualification.
  • NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering or a related/equivalent mechanical qualification.
  • Physically fit to work in confined spaces.
  • Qualified and competent to complete work and comply with current standards and regulations.
  • Health and safety knowledge.
  • Technical knowledge and know-how to identify faults and solutions.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Full UK valid driving licence.
