About the Role

Sulzer Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our design team in Leeds, UK. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting, reviewing, and compiling mechanical analysis documentation to clients, ensuring the mechanical, rotor dynamic, and structural integrity of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Sales & Tendering Departments in new and varied pump and package designs
  • Provide advice and support to Design Engineers on rotor dynamic design calculations and structural Finite Element Analysis investigations
  • Perform pressure boundary Finite Element Analysis
  • Design reports for Mechanical Integrity and Design Validation assessments
  • Support the Service Division in mechanical analysis and/or assessments for pump retrofits and upgrades
Requirements
  • Degree Qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • Relevant experience in the related industry, including knowledge of industry practices and standards
  • Relevant experience in the related industry, ideally in Oil and Gas
  • Knowledge of finite element analysis techniques
  • Knowledge of rotor dynamics (lateral and torsional)
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to change
  • Excellent attention to detail skills
