Job Summary:

The CRA GROUP LIMITED is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gas Quality Assurance Specialist to provide technical oversight and quality assurance for the council's domestic gas servicing, repair, and heating replacement programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical oversight and quality assurance for the council's domestic gas servicing, repair, and heating replacement programs.
  • Fulfill an audit and inspection program to validate and monitor the quality of domestic gas work across the housing and community hall portfolios, including capital project works, new build, and regeneration schemes.
  • Provide technical advice to colleagues on the specification, repair, and maintenance of gas appliances, gas supplies, and carcasses, hot water services, and domestic ground source heat pumps.
  • Undertake feasibility studies, surveys, and inspections of existing installations to produce schemes works and reports to a high professional standard.
  • Act as Contract Administrator for small project works up to a value of £50,000.
  • Review O&M information upon receipt and in liaison with the Compliance Delivery Officer(s) to ensure PPM programs are reviewed/updated to ensure all systems are subject to suitable maintenance, testing, and inspection programs.
  • Provide assistance and support to the Housing Asset Management team in support of the Council's Asset and Sustainability strategy and wider Carbon objectives.

Requirements:

  • At least three years' experience working in a similar role in social housing or residential environment.
  • Knowledge of Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations and associated British Standard.
  • Able to review/draft technical specifications relevant to gas installations.
  • Knowledge of products and performance specifications for boilers, water heaters, heating systems, and ground source heat systems.
  • An understanding of the Carbon Neutral agenda and retrofit schemes in the sector.

Additional Information:

  • Technical qualifications or equivalent: CCN1 – Core domestic gas safety certificate; CENWAT – Central heating and hot water; CKR1 – cookers; HTR1 – gas fires.
