Our client, a prominent charity retailer located in North London, is seeking a dynamic and driven Retail Operations Leader to oversee key locations in the area.

As the Retail Operations Leader, your main objective will be to enhance revenue generation and ensure that all performance goals are not only met but surpassed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of shop management, showcasing strong leadership and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and occasionally demanding environment. Effectively delegate tasks and provide continuous training and support to team members, including the assistant manager, to ensure smooth operational processes.
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain volunteers to create a high-performing team. Foster a positive and rewarding volunteer experience, ensuring that each individual feels appreciated and supported in their role. Advocate for diversity and equality within the shop team, reflecting the community we serve.
  • Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service to shoppers, donors, and volunteers. Establish a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere in the shop, promoting positive interactions and behaviors among all stakeholders.
  • Act as an ambassador for the charity brand through the shop, embodying its values. Maintain the organization’s reputation by upholding high standards of professionalism and integrity.
  • Ensure that all shop operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and cash handling, are conducted efficiently and in accordance with organizational policies and procedures to guarantee compliance and achievement of KPIs and targeted income.

Required Experience:

  • Prior experience in a retail management position, ideally within a charity shop setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities, with a talent for motivating and inspiring a diverse team.
  • Awareness of KPIs and a commercially driven mindset.
  • Experience working with volunteers.
  • Knowledge of gift aid processes.
  • Proven capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion in the workplace.
  • Passion for the mission and values of the charity.
