Maritime Procurement Lead

The Government Commercial Function is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Lead to join our Maritime Commercial Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for delivering commercial strategies that meet the sourcing needs of our customers, while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and procurement policies.

Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement commercial strategies to meet the sourcing needs of our customers
- Deliver complex procurement projects compliant with relevant legislation and procurement policies
- Assess routes to market and engage with stakeholders to deliver excellent outcomes
- Manage procurement risks and ensure mitigations are in place or escalated
- Maintain accurate data to inform the commercial pipeline and reporting
- Ensure the continuous development of yourself and your colleagues
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Experience of working in the Maritime Sector or with a relevant background/experience
- Knowledge of public procurement legislation and procurement policies
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence and negotiate with colleagues and stakeholders
- Leadership skills and ability to manage a team of professionals
- Understanding of the wider drivers, objectives, and activity across Government
