Overview:

We are a leading provider of renewable energy solutions, specializing in the design, manufacture, and operation of combined heat and power (CHP) units and power systems. We are seeking an experienced Energy Services Engineer to join our team and contribute to the growth and success of our business.

The Role:

  1. Lead Electrical Design: Take the lead on electrical design matters within the projects department, supporting both sales and service functions of the business.
  2. Design and Development: Evaluate, interpret, and develop concepts into deliverable designs, using all technical data to ensure the safe and functional as well as contractual specifications are met.
  3. Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical engineering to identify project deliverables and coordinate M&E designs.
  4. Electrical Design and Control: Design electrical layouts and infrastructure, control panels, PLC interface, distribution, protection, and control strategies to UK electrical regulations for a range of CHP and power systems.
  5. Technical Expertise: Utilize CAD packages, including AutoCAD, Eplan Amtech, and BIM software, to ensure the correct evaluation interpretation, safety, and compliance of a customer's requirements.
  6. Project Delivery: Liaise with the Draughtsman to ensure that any design packages produced are on time and of the required quality.
  7. Complex Systems: Design and control complex fuel storage and transfer control systems for oil and liquid fuel systems.
  8. Package Plantroom: Design package plantroom, cable containment, power, control, lighting, motor starting systems, actuating valves, and power distribution boards associated with the design.
  9. Site Installation: Work closely with the project delivery team and specialist subcontractors, attending site to monitor correct installation processes.
  10. Commissioning and Maintenance: Develop, write, and review commissioning processes and ongoing maintenance schemes.
  11. Requirements:
    1. Desirable Qualifications: A BEng in an electrical or electromechanical design discipline.
    2. Technical Experience: Experience of designing building infrastructure systems, including power distribution, earthing integration, BMS & BEMS control systems.
    3. Industrial Communication: Knowledge of Modbus TCP/IP, Profibus, CANbus, and other industrial communication protocols.
    4. Hazardous Zoning: Experience of hazardous zoning standards and ATEX risk assessment process.
    5. Synchronous Systems: Experience of designing synchronous systems that run both as island mode power plants and grid parallel systems.
    6. Project Budgeting: Understanding of project budgeting and value engineering process benefits.
