About the Institution

We are an alternative educational establishment focused on supporting students who face the risk of permanent exclusion from traditional schooling. Our dedicated team is committed to ensuring that every pupil departs with a clear and actionable plan for their future. Our tailored curriculum is designed to foster both social/emotional growth and academic achievement.

The Opportunity

This is a long-term position that has the potential to transition into a permanent role for the right individual. You will be responsible for instructing a small class of 6-8 students, all of whom present self-regulation challenges and many of whom have encountered trauma in their early lives. A crucial aspect of this position involves providing pastoral care and teaching essential life skills alongside academic instruction.

We welcome applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and assess lesson plans
- Tailor lessons to meet individual student needs
- Collaborate with ECT mentors for guidance
- Create and prepare educational resources
- Utilize teaching assistants effectively
- Document student progress through reports
- Communicate feedback to senior management and parents/carers
- Follow the recommendations of external specialists

Essential Qualifications

- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs
- Familiarity with the SEND Code of Practice
