Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Central South team, specializing in infrastructure development. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading project management commissions, ensuring end-to-end service delivery, and acting as the primary client interface.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Lead project management commissions, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery, often for large or complex projects.
  • Client Interface: Act as the key day-to-day client interface, ensuring client objectives are met and projects are delivered to time, cost, and quality targets.

Scope

Senior Project Managers handle commissions of varying sizes, depending on project complexity. Typically, projects fall within the £10m to £25m range, although larger projects may be involved in advisory roles.

Accountabilities

  • Project Governance: Establish effective project governance, processes, and systems to be utilized throughout the project.
  • Schedule Management: Prepare and maintain schedules of activity, including producing the master project plan.
  • Resource Management: Develop and implement resource plans and procure resources as needed.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and facilitate the overall cross-functional project team.
  • Performance Management: Monitor and apply performance management techniques, including the use of KPIs to improve project performance.
  • Change Control: Manage the change control process.
  • Budgeting: Develop and agree budgets and control forecast and actual costs against them.
  • Communication: Manage the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communications.
  • Risk Management: Identify and monitor project risks and plan and implement risk mitigations.
  • Reporting: Prepare formal project progress and other reports.
  • Stakeholder Management: Take a leading role in interfacing with the client, other consultants, and managing stakeholders at all project stages.
  • Health and Safety: Advise the client regarding Health & Safety and Environmental issues and risks.
  • Quality Management: Plan for and the ongoing management of quality, safety, health, and environment issues.

Qualifications

  • Education: Candidates will ideally be degree qualified (Civil Engineering).
  • Experience: Experience on large scheme projects (£100m plus).
  • Professional Qualifications: Preferred if chartered/qualified with ICE, APM, RICS, etc.
