As a Logistics Compliance Operations Manager, you will report directly to the Warehouse Manager and be tasked with providing an efficient and cost-effective warehousing solution that meets the operational needs of our facility while ensuring compliance with all legal standards.
Your responsibilities will include monitoring daily operational targets, costs, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring alignment with company standards and customer service expectations during your shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to all practices and procedures in accordance with legislation, company health and safety policies, BRC regulations, and HACCP standards.
- Collaborate closely with Site Managers to address mutual challenges, resolve issues, and enhance departmental efficiencies.
- Plan staff schedules and resource allocation to meet operational demands without incurring unnecessary costs.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping at all times.
- Participate in management meetings and prepare reports and statistics as required.
- Enforce departmental discipline, including timekeeping and performance, utilizing the company’s disciplinary policies with HR support.
- Oversee the application of the company’s absence management policies, including monitoring absence levels and conducting return-to-work discussions.
- Engage in proactive performance management initiatives and process improvement strategies to evolve warehouse operations.
- Deliver effective training on Safety, Health, Environment, Quality, and compliance standards to new and existing staff.
- Coach site teams on updated procedures, risk assessments, and safe working practices.
- Coordinate all compliance-related events and updates for staff.
- Provide coaching and guidance to site management and supervisory teams to meet audit requirements and address any non-conformance issues.
- Ensure compliance with Food Safety, Quality Assurance, and Allergen procedures.
- Conduct site audits to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
- Manage fire safety standards, tests, drills, and actions from fire risk assessments.
- Regularly review site risk assessments and safe working methods.
- Identify compliance KPIs and recommend improvements to meet business and legal requirements.
- Oversee site facility and maintenance contractor needs.
- Manage compliance document control, corrective actions, and trend analysis.
- Supervise Warehouse Trainer, Site Services Operative, and Hygiene Operatives.
- Demonstrate management experience in a warehouse setting, particularly in a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Exhibit strong people management skills and a flexible, positive approach.
- Possess knowledge of warehouse auditing and BRC compliance.
- Understand operational methods and procedures relevant to the FMCG sector.
- Have a proven track record of achieving Key Performance Indicators.
- Be proficient in warehouse management systems and possess high-level IT skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
