Job Summary
NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our Prescribing Support Team. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in promoting and implementing cost-effective and evidence-based prescribing practices within specific GP practices and Care Homes across NHS GGC.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with GPs and primary care multidisciplinary teams to improve medicines management and deliver excellent patient care.
- Deliver the pharmacotherapy service as part of the GP contract and provide support to patients with their medicines.
- Develop and implement cost-effective and evidence-based prescribing practices within GP practices and Care Homes.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on medicines management and prescribing practices.
Requirements
- Pharmacy Technician qualification or equivalent.
- Experience of working in primary care or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, organisational, and IT skills.
- Ability to influence and affect change.
