About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electronics Design Engineer to join our dynamic team at G&H (Gooch & Housego) in Torquay, Devon. As a key member of our R&D team, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of cutting-edge electronic systems for various industries, including industrial, aerospace & defence, and bio-photonics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electronic sub-systems from concept to manufacture and test.
  • Lead the design of electronic sub-systems, including requirements analysis and development of specifications.
  • Design laser drivers, optical detection circuits, and digital control electronics.
  • Develop and maintain embedded firmware/software associated with digital control of opto-electronic sub-systems.
  • Conduct reliability and parts stress analysis, and manage obsolescence as required.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Engineering teams to support new opportunities and generate solutions for customers.

Requirements:

  • Industrial experience in an electronics design & development function.
  • Good analogue/digital/mixed signal circuit design skills.
  • Experience in Firmware/Software development for ARM-based microprocessors.
  • Bachelor's degree level in Electrical and/or Electronics engineering.
