Position Overview

As a key member of the culinary team in a care home setting, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering nutritious meals tailored to the needs of our residents. Your role will require a keen understanding of dietary requirements and a passion for serving quality food to the elderly community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead meal preparation and cooking for a group of 30+ residents.
  • Ensure adherence to dietary restrictions and nutritional guidelines.
  • Utilize fresh ingredients to create traditional English dishes.
  • Adapt meals on-the-spot based on resident preferences.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen assistants to maintain a smooth operation.
  • Engage in ongoing training, including IDDSI standards.
  • Oversee baking of cakes and pastries for special occasions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 months experience in a head chef role.
  • Relevant culinary certifications or extensive experience in English cuisine.
  • Ability to work flexible hours from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
  • Experience in a catering environment is preferred.
