Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Empowering Learning Ltd. as a SEND Specialist. This is a full-time role working with children with additional needs, providing support and guidance to help them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with children on a 1:1 basis, providing individualized support and guidance to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans that cater to the unique needs of each child.
  • Assist with classroom activities, including lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, to ensure a smooth and engaging learning experience for all students.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to children, helping them to develop social skills, build confidence, and manage their emotions.
  • Work closely with parents and carers to ensure that the child's needs are met and that they are fully informed about their child's progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of psychological theories, research methodologies, and ethical practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Empathy, compassion, and a genuine interest in working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software or tools for data analysis or research purposes.
  • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance, or willingness to undergo the process.
