About the Role

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled IT Support Specialist to join our Pathology IT team. As an IT Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care by ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and maintenance for our pathology IT systems, including troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Develop and implement data quality policies and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable data reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements, resulting in increased efficiency and productivity.
  • Train and assist users on the effective use of our clinical systems, ensuring they have the necessary skills to perform their duties.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of our IT infrastructure, ensuring it meets the needs of our users and supports the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in pathology informatics, data quality and management, and clinical governance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with users at all levels.
