About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join YMCA England & Wales as a Senior Public Affairs Officer, playing a pivotal role in our parliamentary influencing efforts. With the arrival of a new Government, we are seeking an experienced parliamentary operator to forge crucial new relationships across the political spectrum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support YMCAs policy function and drive a range of public affairs activities to engage and build relationships across Government, Parliament, and the Civil Service.
  • Provide a full range of public affairs advice and support to the YMCA Federation.
  • Bring influence with key decision makers through our campaigns and policy positions.
Requirements

We are looking for a strong communicator, both spoken and written, who can create accurate and informative communications to persuade and influence a target audience. You will have experience in a public affairs role in the charitable sector or have worked in Parliament in recent years.

As a Senior Public Affairs Officer, you will have the opportunity to shape and influence real policies that can affect lives for the better. You will be part of a unique organisation that blends a national profile with support, development, and representation of 85 local YMCAs.
