About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and organized Ward Clerk to join our team within Medicine & Emergency Care at The Northumbria Emergency Care Hospital.

The successful candidate will provide day-to-day administrative support to the wards, working a shift pattern between 0800-2000, 7 days a week, including all bank holidays on a pro rata basis.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to ward staff, including maintaining accurate records and data on Patient Administration System.
  • Act as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals, providing a welcoming and efficient reception service.
  • Facilitate good communication with other wards and departments involved in patient care or ward/departmental functioning.
  • Provide an efficient administration and clerical service to ward staff, visitors, and patients.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Patient Administration System for admissions, transfers, and discharges gained through in-house training and induction.
  • Previous office/reception experience.
