Senior HSE Manager

Select Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Senior HSE Specialist to lead our team in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement Environment, Health & Safety programs and processes to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct investigations to identify root causes of non-conformances and provide training to teams on quality investigation procedures.
- Provide Health & Safety expertise for new projects and change management activities, ensuring alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and follow up on non-conformances, developing systems to resolve them based on root cause analysis.
- Ensure relevant technical requirements are understood and complied with, including regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement follow-ups to minimize or eliminate accidents or asset losses that may harm employees, contractors, or property.
- Implement corrective and preventative actions for EHS, ensuring facility standards are in compliance with company and government regulations.
- Develop and deliver training programs to drive a safety-perfect culture and ensure Health & Safety standards and awareness are well understood throughout the organization.
- Identify gaps in the training agenda and develop courses as needed, focusing on critical safety training, incident investigations, permit to work, manual handling, and other essential topics.
- Ensure contractors on site have robust Environment, Health, and Safety procedures and systems in place, aligned with company expectations.
- Lead by example, demonstrating ethical and legal compliance responsibilities, and maintain an environment where employees feel comfortable speaking up without fear of retaliation.
- Act as deputy for the HSE manager when unavailable, providing support and guidance to the team.
- Coach less experienced team members and drive a pipeline of talent within the business.
- Manage the safety budget, ensuring financial targets are met, and develop a pipeline of projects in collaboration with the engineering department and operations.
- Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems and experience working with governing bodies (HSE, EA, or Local Authorities).
- Understanding of building a good safety culture, working with stakeholders to drive engagement across core and non-core populations.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Tech-savvy with experience in Windows and ability to adapt to other systems as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to create a motivational environment, driving good health and safety culture.
- Technical functional excellence in Health & Safety demonstrated through leadership.
