Senior Project Manager - ICT

Lorien is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery and implementation of a key ICT project. The role will focus on managing the entire lifecycle of the project, from planning to execution, ensuring it is delivered on time, within budget, and to the agreed quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Management: Take full ownership of the ICT project, ensuring all stages—from initial scoping and design to implementation and closeout—are completed efficiently and effectively.
  2. Planning and Scheduling: Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining timelines, resource allocation, milestones, and deliverables. Ensure that plans are regularly updated to reflect project progress and changes.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, technical teams, suppliers, and end-users, to gather requirements, provide regular updates, and manage expectations.
  4. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks. Develop contingency plans and ensure that any potential risks or issues are communicated and managed proactively.
  5. Budget Management: Oversee the project budget, tracking expenditures and ensuring that the project remains within its financial constraints.
  6. Change Management: Manage any changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  7. Arcus Global System Implementation: If applicable, manage the implementation, customization, or integration of the Arcus Global system, ensuring that all technical and functional requirements are met.
  8. Quality Assurance: Ensure that project deliverables meet the agreed quality standards and that user acceptance testing is carried out effectively.
  9. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including meeting minutes, status reports, and post-project reviews. Regularly report on project progress to the project board or steering committee.
  10. Training and Support: Facilitate training sessions and provide support to end-users to ensure successful system adoption post-implementation.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience in managing and delivering ICT projects, preferably in the public or private sector, with a successful track record of implementation.
  2. Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, PMBOK).
  3. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
  4. Demonstrated ability to manage project risks, budgets, and schedules effectively.
  5. Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, or Trello.
  6. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project environments.

Desirable:

  1. Certification in project management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile).
  2. Experience working within a public sector or local government setting.
  3. Familiarity with cloud-based ICT solutions and their implementation challenges.
