Join Our Team as a Scientist I, Manufacturing Sciences

4basebio is a pioneering gene synthesis company dedicated to delivering high-quality, synthetic DNA for gene therapy and gene editing platforms. Our company is rapidly expanding and establishing a GMP gene synthesis hub in the UK to facilitate the scaling and optimization of our proprietary DNA manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform and lead manufacturing operations, including buffer preparation, DNA template manufacturing, upstream & downstream manufacturing, and cleaning of process areas.
  • Support the monitoring and maintenance of GMP facilities and direct utilities in accordance with company & regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain QMS documentation, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies in accordance with GMP regulations.
  • Contribute to cleaning and housekeeping tasks to support manufacturing operations.
  • Support material and equipment management for manufacturing operations.
  • Provide support and training of manufacturing processes.
  • Support recruitment or external visit activities such as interviews and lab tours.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality policies, SOPs, and Health and Safety procedures.
  • Attend and participate in relevant meetings, training, and development sessions.
  • Support quality events and troubleshooting activities, assisting with continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Travel to other 4basebio sites as required.
Requirements:
  • BSc or equivalent work experience in biochemistry, biological sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Previous manufacturing and facility experience desirable (cleanroom maintenance, DNA cloning, DNA, RNA, and protein extraction, chromatography, TFF).
