Senior Marine Geophysicist Job Description

At Venterra Group, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Marine Geophysicist to join our Geoscience Service Line. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading geotechnical site assessments for offshore wind farm projects, from inception to finalization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage geoscience strategies for offshore wind farm projects
  • Oversee the technical aspects of planning, scoping, and execution support for phased offshore site investigations and laboratory testing initiatives
  • Lead geotechnical site assessments for offshore wind farm projects, ensuring compliance with contractual, health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Manage site investigation teams and on-site representatives to guarantee the delivery of high-quality data
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to navigate third-party impacts on site investigations, devising and discussing mitigation strategies to safeguard project timelines and outcomes
  • Supervise the interpretation of extensive geotechnical datasets and conduct comprehensive site characterisations to identify risks for regulatory and design needs
  • Assess and onboard new site investigation contractors, technologies, and methodologies to enhance local supply chain participation and project efficiency

Requirements:

  • Strong technical and commercial understanding of offshore geotechnical campaigns
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with site investigation contractors and clients
  • Highly organized and motivated individual with a good work ethic and commitment to technical excellence
  • Ability to balance project management and technical responsibilities, with an approximate allocation of 60% to project management and 40% to technical tasks
