Morgan Ryder is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineering Lead to join our team at our manufacturing plant in Greater Manchester. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Support Planner and Supervisor to plan and coordinate all electrical engineering work across the site.
  • Provide technical guidance and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Support the SAP system with HV switching requirements and schedules.
  • Select and manage contractors to ensure high-quality work.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including permits to work, risk assessments, purchase orders, training documentation, and engineering drawings/manuals.
  • Conduct Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) training for the maintenance team, including refreshers and auditing.
  • Purchase electrical equipment, including HV, LV, VSD, and PLC systems.
  • Replace obsolete parts to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Investigate and resolve electrical system issues through root cause analysis and improvement initiatives.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and training to electrical engineers.

Requirements:

  • Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship, L3 qualification.
  • HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of electrical equipment and power supply in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and instructions.
  • Highly organized with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in CMMS and Microsoft Office tools.
  • HV Qualification AP15 advantageous (training can be provided).
