The role of the Army Commercial Procurement Officer is pivotal within the Ministry of Defence, focusing on the acquisition and management of essential resources that support the operational capabilities of the British Army. This position requires a proactive and skilled individual who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with various stakeholders to understand their needs and provide tailored procurement solutions.
- Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, from initial concept discussions through to contract award and management.
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions to ensure optimal delivery and compliance with governmental policies.
- Lead a small team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Ensure that all procurement activities align with EU regulations and government procurement standards.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
- Proven ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Innovative mindset with a willingness to challenge existing processes and propose enhancements.
- Relevant qualifications, such as CIPS Level 4, or a commitment to pursue this qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement and contract management.
