Accounts Assistant Job Description

Optima Recruitment is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our team. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial accuracy and integrity of our company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and postings.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly VAT returns, monthly EC sales, and Intrastat reporting.
  • Contribute to the preparation of accurate monthly accounts, ensuring timely completion.
  • Reconcile control accounts and maintain fixed asset registers.
  • Prepare weekly reports for the management team.
  • Support credit control and purchase ledger tasks.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a similar role (1 year plus).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized and proactive.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills, preferably with VLOOKUP.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
