Thorn Baker Construction is collaborating with a prominent civil engineering and building firm that boasts over three decades of expertise in the construction industry across the UK. They are currently seeking a Procurement Specialist to enhance their team.
This position will be based at the company's headquarters in Manchester, while the organization operates on a national scale, having successfully completed projects in various locations including Edinburgh, Southampton, London, and South Wales.
What We Offer:
£35,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + outstanding benefits

Your Key Responsibilities:
Assess all materials outlined during the planning phase.
Identify potential suppliers and new products, soliciting quotes from multiple vendors and subcontractors to secure the highest quality materials and services at competitive prices.
Upon securing a contract, negotiate optimal terms with suppliers.Ensure compliance of products and services with safety, health, and environmental standards.
Work closely with the estimator throughout the tendering process.
Develop and maintain detailed cost reports to enhance organizational efficiency.
Essential Skills:
Experience in civil engineering and construction sectors
Proficient in COINS software
Competent in IT, particularly with Microsoft Office
Exceptional negotiation skills.
Well-organized and proactive, yet adaptable when necessary.
Strong listening and communication abilities.
Self-driven, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
