Job Overview

We are excited to offer a permanent opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our school age team at North Middlesex University Hospital. The successful candidate will work with children and young people with education health and care plans, supporting them in special schools and mainstream schools.

Main Duties of the Job

The post holder will have a mixed post, supported and guided by senior staff. They will have sessions in special schools and mainstream schools, supporting children and young people with education health and care plans. The post holder will also participate in clinical supervision and training, and will contribute to departmental meetings, clinical audit, and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support children and young people with education health and care plans in special schools and mainstream schools.
  • Participate in clinical supervision and training.
  • Contribute to departmental meetings, clinical audit, and projects.
  • Deliver training to other professionals and parents/carers on all aspects of speech, language, and communication.
  • Participate in the training of Speech and Language Therapy students and supervise the work of LSAs/TAs.
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a recognised speech and language therapy degree or equivalent, and will be registered with the Health Professions Council for Licence to Practice. They will also be a registered member of the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists. The candidate will have experience of working as a Speech and Language Therapist or Speech and Language Therapy student in an education setting with children who have speech, language, and communication needs at primary and secondary school level.

Desirable Criteria

The ideal candidate will also have a car driver's license and will be able to make their own effective travel arrangements.
