Role Overview

Reporting directly to the site Production Manager (Roto), this position encompasses overseeing product quality and optimizing efficiency and output within the manufacturing sector, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental protocols.
  • Foster a culture of ongoing improvement in Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards.
  • Oversee daily management and leadership of production staff to maximize resource efficiency.
  • Encourage a workplace culture that enhances morale and performance.
  • Consistently enforce disciplinary rules and procedures, administering disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Ensure that operators perform all required quality and safety inspections.
  • Support, train, and enforce the implementation of new systems and procedures within the production team.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Maintenance, and Quality departments to guarantee timely product delivery.
  • Contribute to the effective operation of the plant and develop solutions to operational challenges.
  • Optimize labor utilization to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Maintain best practices in manufacturing and contribute to cost improvement initiatives within the production area.
  • Ensure availability of all necessary materials and tools.
  • Keep accurate records related to absenteeism, timekeeping, overtime, and holidays.
  • Prepare and distribute daily production reports.
  • Safeguard the security of the site outside of regular office hours.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by the Operations and Production Supervisor.

Shift Requirements

Combination of 12-hour shifts across both day and night schedules is applicable.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 6 GCSE passes (or equivalent) at grades A*-C, including Mathematics and English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Prior experience in a similar managerial position.

Desirable Qualifications

  • IOSH or other recognized Health & Safety certification.
  • Degree in a science or engineering discipline.
  • Formal training in Management & Leadership.
  • Experience in key processes within the Roto moulding facility.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for machinery.
  • Experience with HR processes, including grievance resolution and disciplinary procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage complexity.
