About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Claims Executive to join our team at Howden Group Holdings. As a Claims Executive, you will be responsible for the proactive management of all claims from cradle to grave, ensuring a high level of professional advice is given to clients at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cradle to Grave handling of a claims portfolio for selected corporate clients.
  • Providing assistance and advice on large or complex transit losses and investigating case law and relevant facts to achieve satisfactory settlement and conclusion.
  • Monitoring and analyzing claim trends to discuss and review with Risk Management.
  • Building and developing close working relationships at a senior level with partners, including insurers and loss adjusters.
  • Maintaining an open 'early warning' culture to identify and address issues and potential errors of omission.
  • Ensuring clear lines of communication throughout the team and sharing relevant information with the Claims Director and Account Executives.
  • Interacting with new business teams to assist in securing new clients with a focus on our 'Excellence in Claims' offering.
  • Staying up-to-date with new products and markets.
  • Training and mentoring the team and wider Claims Division.
  • Producing claims reports to ensure best policy presentation prior to renewals and attending client meetings as required.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of all main classes of General Insurance and the CII's Code of Ethics and GDPR.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Desirable experience in cross-class products.
  • Responsibility for own personal development and keeping own knowledge up to date.

  • Good level of technical insurance skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to process work quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent client service skills.
