Position Overview:

The Accountant role encompasses a variety of essential duties:

  • Preparation and analysis of Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, and Cashflow reports, along with the submission of budgets and forecasts to the corporate office.
  • Evaluation of business performance and providing insights into variances between actual results and forecasts.
  • Management of balance sheet accounts, Fixed Asset Register, and inventory listings, ensuring monthly reconciliations are completed.
  • Conducting weekly cash flow projections to identify opportunities for cash maximization and effective working capital management.
  • Performing internal reviews to ensure that Stock and Work in Progress are accurately represented in financial systems and reports.
  • Proactively identifying and enhancing financial and operational processes to ensure timely and precise management information is available.
  • Staying current with Accounting Standards and implementing new accounting practices as required.
  • Assessing business risks and strategic initiatives.
  • Preparation and review of supporting documentation for year-end audits.
  • Handling the preparation of VAT and CIS returns.
  • Occasional travel to various office locations may be necessary.
  • Supervising two Accounts Clerks.

Required Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Strong communication and influencing abilities, with a capacity to engage effectively at all organizational levels and foster productive working relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience in a deadline-oriented environment with the capability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Proven track record in process development and improvement.
  • Robust financial and analytical competencies.
  • Experience in budget management, forecasting, and monthly financial reporting.
  • Proficient IT skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Power BI is advantageous.

Desirable:

  • Experience with SAP, COINs, Tagetik, and Power BI.
  • Background in a large manufacturing organization.
