Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of audit clients, overseeing the audit process from planning to completion.
  • Lead audit teams on engagements, providing support and technical guidance.
  • Conduct risk assessments, ensuring audits are planned and executed effectively.
  • Review and finalise audit reports and financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as the main point of contact for audit-related queries.
  • Manage team performance, providing training and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Ensure compliance with UK auditing standards and internal quality control procedures.
  • Assist with business development by identifying opportunities to expand the audit client base.
  • Keep up to date with technical developments and changes in audit regulations.
  • Monitor workflow and ensure that all audits are completed within agreed deadlines and budgets.
Requirements
  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in external audit, with at least 2 years in a management role.
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and UK auditing standards.
  • Proven track record of managing audit teams and leading complex audit engagements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple audits and deadlines simultaneously.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to think strategically.
  • Experience with audit software and accounting packages such as CaseWare, Xero, or similar.
