Job Summary:

Michael James Associates is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer/BA to join our team. As a Data Engineer/BA, you will be responsible for gathering, organizing, and analyzing datasets to provide valuable insights to our partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis: Gather, organize, and analyze datasets to provide partners with actionable insights to their risk data.
  • Data Dictionary Development: Develop and maintain data dictionaries to ensure data quality and integrity throughout data analysis and reporting processes.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand partner business needs and queries.
  • Query Resolution: Resolve partner reporting queries and provide data-driven solutions to any issues raised.
  • Trend Identification: Identify trends and patterns in data to support data lineage and partner reporting processes.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure data quality and integrity throughout data analysis and reporting processes.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics) with strong Excel skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and Python (or programming language) for data manipulation and analysis, experience with Master Data Management, Data Quality, Policy Data, Party Data, etc.
  • Cloud Technologies: Comfortable with working in cloud technologies (Google GCP/Ms Azure, etc.).
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Industry Experience: Experience in the financial services or insurance industry is a plus.
