About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Womenswear Garment Technologist to join our team at Wyse London. As a key member of our technical team, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the quality and technical standards of our garments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure they understand and adhere to technical specifications in a timely manner.
  • Technical Pack Development: Collaborate with the Design team at the start of each season to develop tech packs that ensure first prototypes meet original requests.
  • Troubleshooting and Quality Control: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during the production process, finding innovative solutions to maintain product quality.
  • Manufacturing Process Optimization: Work with the Buying team to optimize manufacturing processes while maintaining quality standards, effectively managing production costs.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain detailed records of technical specifications, patterns, and quality control reports, ensuring accurate and organized documentation.
  • Product Knowledge and Competitor Analysis: Demonstrate an excellent understanding of the Wyse customer and brand handwriting, as well as in-depth product and competitor knowledge.
  • Fit Sessions and Quality Assurance: Lead fit sessions (twice a week) with the Buying and Design teams to ensure excellent and consistent fit of products, along with the best construction methods.
  • Risk Assessment and Quality Issue Resolution: Conduct risk assessments of all products from the earliest point of product development, raising and resolving any identified issues.
  • Store and Online Platform Review: Regularly visit our stores and review our online platform, as well as competitor websites, to stay up-to-date with industry trends.
  • Technical Standardization and Process Improvement: Work with the Technical Manager to standardize key blocks with the support of Buying and Design, increasing speed and accuracy when fitting and improving product performance.
  • Quality Issue Resolution and Communication: Liaise with external teams, including the warehouse, to understand and respond to any quality issues and advise on further actions.
  • Fit Returns Target Achievement: Achieve fit returns targets for product areas.
  • Washcare and Fabric Composition Communication: Be responsible for washcare and fabric composition communication for Wyse's website.
  • Critical Path Management: Work alongside Buying to manage the critical path for own product areas.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Degree (or equivalent) or relevant experience/qualification, with 5+ years of relevant experience (in womenswear), preferably within a premium brand.
  • Technical Skills: Excel and Microsoft Office skills, knowledge of pattern and garment construction.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, effective communication and problem-solving skills, knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
  • Personal Qualities: Proactive approach to all aspects of work, with an emphasis on continuously seeking opportunities to innovate and improve the business.
