Job Summary

AWE Plc Careers is seeking a skilled Dispersion Scientist to join our team in the Systems Assessment Group (SAG). As a key member of the Radiological Assessment Team (RAT), you will play a crucial role in supporting atmospheric dispersion and hazard prediction through experimental trials, scientific research, and software model development.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct experimental trials and scientific research to improve atmospheric dispersion models
• Develop and maintain software models to predict hazardous scenarios
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate dispersion models into larger systems
• Provide expert advice on radiological assessment and hazard prediction

Requirements

• PhD in a relevant field (e.g. atmospheric science, physics, mathematics)
• Proven experience in atmospheric dispersion modelling and radiological assessment
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or Fortran
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

What We Offer

• A competitive salary of £38,000 - £60,000
