Electrical, Controls, and Instrumentation Engineer

H9 Technical Recruitment is seeking a skilled Electrical, Controls, and Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to join our client's team at their EfW plant in Peterborough. As an EC&I Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and maintenance of all EC&I assets across the plant to ensure maximum plant availability and minimum downtime.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will lead and supervise the EC&I Team, comprising of 2 Technicians and 1 apprentice.
  • Hands-on fault finding, repair work, and planned and unplanned maintenance on all electrical and C&I assets to maximize plant availability.
  • Collaborate with Technicians and the Engineering Manager to ensure an accurate daily schedule is produced and worked to.
  • Work with the site engineering team on plant improvement projects and upgrades.
  • Assist during site outages/shutdowns when required.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using the site CMM.
  • Manage contracts and site contractors as required.
Requirements:
  • An apprenticeship in electrical/instrumentation engineering or similar.
  • Relevant engineering qualification at HNC/ONC level or similar.
  • Proven hands-on maintenance experience across electrical, control, and instrumentation maintenance in a relevant engineering environment.
  • Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • HV experience is desirable.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, e.g., health and safety and environmental.
