Job Summary
The Education Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal to lead Derryhale PS. As a key member of the Education Authority team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the school, ensuring high-quality education and outcomes for all pupils.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement a clear vision and strategy for the school, aligned with the Education Authority's goals and objectives.
- Lead and manage the school's senior leadership team, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
- Teaching and Learning
- Oversee the development and implementation of the school's curriculum, ensuring it is relevant, engaging, and meets the needs of all pupils.
- Lead and manage the teaching and learning process, ensuring high-quality instruction and assessment practices.
- Staff Management
- Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing team of teachers and support staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to deliver excellent education.
- Lead and manage the performance management process, ensuring all staff are held accountable for their performance.
- Community Engagement
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with parents, carers, and the local community, ensuring they are engaged and informed about the school's activities and progress.
- Lead and manage the school's marketing and communications strategy, ensuring a positive image of the school is presented to the community.
- Financial Management
- Oversee the school's budget and financial management, ensuring effective use of resources and compliance with Education Authority policies and procedures.
- Lead and manage the school's procurement and supply chain processes, ensuring value for money and compliance with Education Authority policies and procedures.
- Accountability
- Ensure the school is accountable for its performance, outcomes, and finances, providing regular reports to the Education Authority.
- Lead and manage the school's self-evaluation process, ensuring it is rigorous, transparent, and informs future planning and improvement.
- Qualifications
- Hold a relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, BEd) and a leadership qualification (e.g., NPQH, MBA).
- Experience
- Have a minimum of 5 years' experience as a senior leader in a school or education setting.
- Have a proven track record of improving pupil outcomes, staff performance, and school finances.
- Skills
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with staff, parents, and the community.
- Ability to analyze data, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to address them.
