McQueens Dairies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Head of Logistics to lead our depot operations in the South England region. As a key member of our Logistics Leadership team, you will be responsible for driving excellence in depot operations, building a high-performing team, and collaborating with other areas of the business to improve visibility and perception of depot operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a regional strategy to drive depot operations excellence, including team development, health and safety, customer services, financial control, and continuous improvement.
- Build and lead a high-performing team, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and developing effective succession plans, learning and development requirements, and longer-term professional development.
- Collaborate with the Logistics Director and other stakeholders to develop and implement business-wide initiatives, including the 5-year plan and annual operating budget.
- Develop and present an annual operating budget for the regional depots, treating the region as a profit and loss centre and raising any significant variations to budget.
- Participate in strategic initiatives with colleagues in central functions, such as HR Operations, Finance, and IT.
- Demonstrable leadership experience in a multi-site logistics operation.
- Background in dairy, food, or drinks distribution preferred.
- Health and Safety Leadership (NEBOSH) certification.
- Logistics Certification (CILT/APICS).
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office Applications.
- Strong leadership capabilities, decisive and effective decision-making, excellent communication skills, effective time management, determination to achieve and drive targets, and the ability to delegate tasks for optimal outcomes.
